Rona Wang began creating youth initiatives in 2015 after witnessing the power of education firsthand: born into poverty, she saw her family achieve upward mobility through higher education. She finished her freshman year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June 2017 and is currently on a gap year in New Zealand.
Davella Tang is a second-year student at the University of Auckland, studying Language Teaching. Originally from Guangzhou, China, she is passionate about making education accessible for all students.
Elaine Yang believes this program provides people with a valuable opportunity to learn from their peers. She is a senior at Lincoln High School and the founder of Codette, which teaches girls how to code. She is a two-time winner of the NCWIT National Honorable Mention award.
Valerie Wu is a junior at Presentation High School in San Jose. Her writing centers around the Asian American experience at the intersection of ethnicity and migration. She is passionate about writing as a transformative tool for education.
Kyler Wang is an eighth-grade student at Stoller Middle School. He enjoys debate, philosophy, and politics. A recipient of multiple regional awards from the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, he founded the literary arts magazine at his school.
